How We RankSoftware
Unlike G2, Capterra, and other review sites, we don't accept payment for rankings. Here's exactly how we evaluate and recommend software.
Our Core Principle
We never accept payment for rankings. Vendors cannot buy their way to the top. Period. Our recommendations are based purely on user satisfaction, data quality, and fit for purpose.
What We Measure
Our ranking algorithm weighs five key factors to determine which software to recommend.
User Satisfaction Score
40%We aggregate ratings from G2, Capterra, TrustRadius, and other verified review platforms. Each rating is weighted by recency and verification status.
Review Freshness
20%Reviews from the last 6 months are weighted more heavily. Software changes rapidly—so should our data. Reviews older than 2 years are discounted significantly.
Pricing Transparency
15%We reward software with clear, upfront pricing. Hidden fees, forced annual contracts, and unclear pricing models negatively impact rankings.
Fit for Purpose
15%Different software works better for different use cases. We consider company size, industry, and specific feature needs when making recommendations.
Market Momentum
10%Is the product improving? We track feature releases, company growth, and user sentiment trends to identify rising and falling products.
Our Data Process
How we collect, verify, and transform raw data into trustworthy recommendations.
Data Collection
We continuously scrape and aggregate reviews from 10+ trusted sources including G2, Capterra, TrustRadius, Software Advice, and official vendor sites.
Verification
Each data point is verified for accuracy. Pricing is confirmed directly with vendors or their websites. Reviews are checked for authenticity markers.
Normalization
Different platforms use different rating scales. We normalize all ratings to a 5-point scale and apply our weighting algorithm.
Ranking Generation
Our algorithm combines all factors with their respective weights to generate category-specific rankings that update weekly.
Human Review
Our team reviews rankings for anomalies and ensures recommendations make practical sense for real-world use cases.
What We DON'T Consider
These factors have zero influence on our rankings. We're transparent about our business model.
How We Make Money
We believe in full transparency about our business model.
Affiliate Commissions
When you click a link and sign up for software, we may earn a commission. This NEVER affects rankings—we recommend the best software regardless of commission rates.
Display Advertising
We may show clearly labeled ads. These are always separate from our recommendations and rankings. Ads are never disguised as organic content.
Our Data Sources
We aggregate data from multiple trusted platforms to get a complete picture.
